The Costa Blanca is one of the jewels of our country and the Mediterranean. And we could say that the brightest diamond is Calpe. And we don’t say it because we are in love with this city and all its places, but because thousands of tourists who visit the city every month say they want to return to our vacation rental apartments in Calpe. Because this town in Alicante offers endless possibilities.
We tell you what to see, what to do in Calpe and where to stay.
What to see in Calpe
What makes Calpe perfect? Its location on the Costa Blanca, its crystal clear waters, its pleasant climate all year round, its streets and its beaches. Everything makes Calpe special and, if you don’t believe it, see for yourself:
Peñón de Ifach
The Ifach Rock Natural Park is a Spanish protected natural area located in our city and is the smallest Natural Park in the Comunidad Valenciana and one of the most visited.
In ancient times, it was a small island separated from the peninsula (united only by a small tongue). And now it is a paradise for climbing, since it has more than 40 climbing routes. Imagine climbing a rock right from the sea?

The salt flats and their flamingos
One of the hallmarks of Calpe. The salt pans are located in the center of the city and are several saltwater lagoons that, although it is now a protected natural area, formerly its salt was used to preserve fish.
Baños de la Reina
Can you imagine taking a bath in an archaeological site? Baños de la Reina are Roman ruins in the sea that invite you to take thousands of photos. It is believed that in Roman times it was a fish farm of the Queen, but also a small private pond of her property.

Ecological Walk Príncipe de Asturias
The sun goes down and now it is time to enjoy the peace of the sea breeze, what is the plan? A walk contemplating the magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Peñón de Ifach, from the port of Calpe to the Cala del Racó is undoubtedly the best alternative for any afternoon. This is offered by the Príncipe de Asturias ecological promenade. Seeing the boats enter the port is a great photo for your album about vacations in Calpe, a seafaring tradition par excellence.

The port: fish auction
And we come to the place where the essence and magic of Calpe are concentrated. It is a town of fishing tradition, so everything that has to do with boats and the port is part of its historical heritage. Above all, the fish auction at the fish market in the port: Monday to Friday at 17:00 hours.
The boats unload their goods and the buyers bid with a remote control. But that’s not all. Right next door you can find a gastronomic offer that will not leave you indifferent. restaurants that are supplied with that fresh fish. It is worth eating a day in the port and taste top quality fish.

The old town
We enter one of the wonders of Calpe (another one): its old town. We are greeted by the 15th century walls, next to the Torreón de la Peça, and we are waiting for you:
- The Gallery of contemporary art in the Ajuntament Vell.
- The Hermitage of San Salvador
- The Church of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves
- The urban passage Forat de la Mar
- Fester Museum
- Collector’s Museum
- La casa de la Senyoreta (archaeological museum)
Red Wall
It is an apartment building, but not just any building: it is a classic of architecture, first, for its striking color (between pink and red) and secondly for its labyrinth-like shape. Moreover, it is the work of Ricardo Bofill, no less. How many influencers and their cameras will have stopped here?
